Action in Reunion
1. Description and Main Aims
The aim of this course is to equip educators with the skills and confidence to integrate video into their teaching practices. In an age where visual content dominates communication, video has become a powerful tool for learning, creativity, and critical thinking.
Research shows that students are more motivated and engaged when working with video. The process of creating a video mobilizes a wide range of competencies, such as:
Writing skills to prepare scripts and texts.
Documentary research skills to gather supporting visuals and information.
Teamwork and collaboration to plan, film, and edit together.
Listening and communication skills to evaluate and give feedback.
Technical skills for filming and editing.
By reinforcing the use of video as both a working tool and a creative medium, this course helps educators provide students with access to knowledge in innovative ways while also fostering media literacy and critical citizenship.
Video as a medium has multiple advantages:
It increases motivation and improves student engagement.
It enhances memorization through the combination of sound and moving images.
It allows individual learning rhythms, as videos can be replayed and revisited.
It helps learners achieve better academic results and develop autonomy.
It opens possibilities for deeper and more personalized learning.
This course is not just about learning video techniques—it is about transforming teaching practices to meet the needs of today’s learners.
